Shut off power to the disposal and visually inspect the sink opening for a jam. Food or other debris can become trapped in the chamber resulting in the unusual noise. The cause of the noise is probably a hard object such as a bone utensil or some other item that fell in. Insert the wrench into the hole at the bottom of the garbage disposal.
This may either be a piece of metal broken glass or bone. The hole is located under the sink at the bottom of the garbage disposal dead center facing the floor. Use the wrench like a crank. In this case you can remove such an object from your garbage disposal. If your food waste disposer is making an unusual noise it may be jammed with food debris or a foreign object may be in the grinding chamber.
Disconnect the power and look into the sink drain opening.
