We personally use mod podge to seal all of our glass framed diamond paintings. Leave this to dry completely. For a simple and quick finish apply a smooth moderate layer of mod podge extreme glitter to the decoupaged surface.
Then add glitter too it and shake off the excess. Paint the item you want to cover in a thin even coat of mod podge and shake over your glitter until the item is covered. Mod podge super gloss. Do this to each side of the box. Apply a top layer of mod podge to seal in the glitter. Cut the paper or fabric out using a pair of scissors or a craft knife. Use long even strokes to reduce the appearance of brush lines. When you apply mod podge to a crafting design use side to side strokes with a proper brush and apply one layer of the sealer.
Allow to dry 15 20 minutes before applying a topcoat of mod podge extreme glitter. Use a toothpick to make it even and to clear any hole needed to hang the blank. You can apply as many coats as you d like to your project. Allow to dry in between coats. Once the mod podge is dry your item will look great but as you can see from the picture above as soon as you pick it up glitter gets transferred to your hands and then everywhere else too.
Make sure the entire surface is covered. Mix glitter with mod podge and brush it on to your project like paint. One option for sealing glitter with a decoupage medium is by mixing glitter directly into the mod podge. Apply a second coat of mod podge and glitter if you feel that you need more coverage. Let the glitter and mod podge completely dry and then add a second coat of glitter.
