Before your first use prime the nasal spray pump by spraying the medicine into the air until a fine mist appears. Use in your nose only.

Mometasone nasal spray needs to be used regularly for it to work. Prior to initial use of mometasone furoate nasal spray 50 mcg the pump must be primed by actuating ten times or until a fine spray appears. To use it for the very first time you will need to pump it in the air about 10 times until it produces a mist to prime it. Insert the tip of the bottle into your right nostril. Do not use more than 2 sprays per nostril in 24 hours.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand these instructions. Before you use the spray for the first time activate the spray a few times until you can see a fine mist in the air blow your nose gently to clear it. For allergic rhinitis the usual dose is 1 or 2 sprays into each nostril once a day. The pump may be stored unused for up to 1 week without repriming. You will need to pump it twice into the air if you don t use it for 14 days.
